很多年前，我在泰國龜島生活。
有一次，我和 FiZZ 酒吧的老闆娘一起搭船前往蘇梅島辦簽證。那是一趟漫長的旅程，在等待的時間裡，我們聊起彼此的人生——為什麼會來到這座小島，以及各自的際遇。她告訴我，她的丈夫早早離世，她必須獨自撫養兩個孩子，同時經營這間酒吧。她的故事質樸卻充滿力量，讓我深深感動。
多年之後，我再次回到龜島，也回到那間熟悉的酒吧。當我點了一杯她的代表作 Electric Fizz，那股辣椒的熱情、薑的辛香與香茅的清新，再次震撼了我。而最令我驚訝的，是她竟然還記得我。
我鼓起勇氣問她：「我可以學這杯酒嗎？」
她微笑著回答：「當然可以，我請調酒師教你。」
就這樣，我和當時的創業夥伴一起學習了這杯酒。
這不只是一杯調酒，而是一份傳承，一段旅程的記憶。
更重要的是，這支酒成為 TAO 品牌的第一支作品，也是我們創立這個品牌的起點。
雖然後來我和當時的夥伴沒有繼續合作，但這一瓶酒，仍承載著那段珍貴的相遇與夢想。
我常常想，也許有一天，我會帶著這瓶酒，再次回到龜島，親手交給她，看見她的表情。
因為這不只是酒，而是故事 —— 我們的故事。
📖 The Story of Electric Tao
Many years ago, I was living on Koh Tao, a small island in Thailand.
One day, I traveled with the owner of FiZZ Bar to Koh Samui to renew our visas. It was a long journey, and during the wait we shared our stories — why we had come to this island, and the turns our lives had taken. She told me that her husband had passed away at a young age, and she was left to raise two children while running the bar on her own. Her story was simple, yet full of strength, and it moved me deeply.
Years later, I returned to Koh Tao and found myself back at her bar. When I ordered a glass of her signature creation — Electric Fizz — I was struck once again by its bold flavors: the heat of chili, the spice of ginger, and the freshness of lemongrass. What surprised me even more was that she still remembered me, after all those years.
At that moment, I gathered the courage to ask: “Can I learn this cocktail?”
She smiled and said: “Of course. I’ll have my bartender teach you.”
That was how I, together with my business partner at the time, learned to make this drink. For us, it was not just a cocktail, but a legacy — a memory captured in a glass.
More importantly, this cocktail became the very first creation of TAO, and the beginning of our brand’s journey.
Although my partner and I eventually went separate ways, this drink continues to hold the memory of that encounter and the dream we once shared.
I often imagine that one day, I will bring a bottle of Electric Tao back to Koh Tao, to place it in her hands and see her reaction.
Because this is more than a drink. It is a story — our story.
